Moving On To Natural Light Photography

I think one of the many reasons photography is such a passion for me is that there is always something new to try. Experimenting with different cameras, lenses, exposure settings and lighting techniques provide a never ending wave of creativity. Every few months I challenge myself to learn a new aspect of photography so I can increase my knowledge. Since most of my photos the last couple of years have been interior room shots, my focus was all about proper lighting. Not just bouncing my speedlite off a wall but learning how to use my flash off camera. It took me several months, but I can honestly say I am much more comfortable with indoor lighting now to capture the best room photo I can.

My new challenge the last few weeks has been doing more natural light photography. Believe it or not, I have actually been using an old film camera and can’t wait to show you some of those photos. But first I have to get them developed! In the meantime, this old barn with the beautiful blue sky and old tractor peeking out the door recently caught my eye~

Have any of you tried the new Canon Tilt Shift Lenses? A little bit of a learning curve but Oh My! I recently helped style a publication and the commercial photographer I was working with used a Tilt Shift for the product images~AMAZING RESULTS to say the least. Just one more reason I love photography! How about you, tell me what is on your photo agenda:)

I’m doing a fun shoot tomorrow beside a gorgeous lake (hopefully the rain holds out) and will share photos with you soon:)

Happy Mother’s Day

For those of you that asked, I am working on a paper fringe tutorial!!

I’m just a point and shoot kind of gal, although I do try to use my different settings on my camera, when I think to do so!
I enjoy taking pictures of my grandchildren, when I get the opportunity, plus my flowers and other outdoor scenery. I use my photos to make my own greeting cards.

Your photos are always so pretty! Keep posting them for us to see.

    On my photo agenda??

Well, I didn’t know I had an agenda other than to just keep clicking away.

And I do love to click!

Mine is all on auto mode.

    So far, so good.

    I love my camera.

    I am a happy camper.

Wow Carol, I love the effect you got with that shot!

What’s on my photo agenda? I just finished editing some pics and sent them off to a mag editor. I have a few shoots lined up, just no time to fit it all in.

I feel competent at natural light photography, but REALLY need to work on my indoor skills.

    Have a fabulous weekend!
    Hugs,
    Anne
