Getting My Blog Groove Back

I’ve made a commitment to myself to get my blog groove back.  Not sure how or when I lost it, but last year I simply quit blogging.  Actually I noticed that many of my long time blog friends were quietly doing the same. What once was a very important aspect of our blogging friendship was replaced by quicker and less time consuming social platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.  But like a long lost friend, I found that I’ve missed being able to have a place that is comfortable and more personable… just like home.  Reconnecting with all of you that have been so kind to me over the years is really what blogging to me is all about.

Big Cedar Lodge

Big Cedar Lodge, Ridgedale, Missouri  One of our favorite places on Earth!

With my new found blog groove, I will also be going back to my roots. Posts will include antiquing, business owning, crafting,  farmhouse living, my family and photography. Plus I might even add some tips on aging gracefully and living life to the fullest:))) Of course I’m always open to any and all ideas you might have on postings.

Took me four tries to get the computer to accept my name. LOL.
Nice little blog! I have just found you.
My husband and I are also seniors, so I really giggled over your Two Seniors and a Truck comment.
We are in the process of “trying” to sell our home in FL and move back to KC. How I miss the Midwest.
So, is the big place in the Bottoms only open one day a month? Sounds like the kind of place I would love and my Honey would hate.
I don’t even know where the Bottoms are located, but I bet I can find it. LOL.
Keep up your darling humor. It’s infectious.

Hi Carol, there is definitely a change in the air of blogging. I felt the same transition late last year. I’m redesigning my blog and website more to reflect my art which I have hopes of selling at some point. I’m also teaching myself how to make YouTube videos so I can offer tutorials. It is rather sad to see the personal touch leaving our blogs… we will just have to be more creative with our writing and presentation.
    Hugs and enjoy the day…

Beth you hit the nail on the head. I think being as authentic as you can and sharing things you are passionate about combined with some personal touches is the key. I’m going to be doing some videos and adding them here just so I can further my reach to anyone that is awesome enough to stop by. I hope you do the YouTube videos and please let me know when you do! Blessings, Carol

I’m looking forward to reading your post once again. Your blog is one of the first blogs I ever read. You and many others inspired me to blog and I’ve enjoyed it so much. I don’t have Instagram and Facebook is just not my favorite platform. Thanks for coming back!

      Hi Karen,

You know it is interesting you talk about not doing Instagram and Facebook, that is another reason I think I’ve missed so many friends that I’ve met through blogging. Thank You so much for the follow and friendship. Blessings, Carol

Same here, my friend. I still blog semi-regularly, but I too have migrated more to Facebook and Instagram.
All I know is that I will follow you wherever you go!

    XOXO,
    Anne
