When out hitting flea markets is there a vintage treasure you can never pass up? For me that would have to be old mirrors, especially the unframed kind. I think mirrors are perfect to add a little glow to any room no matter what decorating style you favor. I also love to use mirrors in unexpected ways, for instance I used several as plate chargers for a Christmas table;

This is such a fabulous idea. I will now start looking locally for the unframed ones or even pulling some out of a ratty frame. I always thought placemats were too small for the large chargers we buy today, so this is the perfect answer. Your styling of these is wonderful. I especially like the etched designed mirror. I recently took a class on how to take the black paint off the back and give them more antiquing.
What a beautiful idea. I bought a used oval mirror that was frosted in some areas, for my daughter’s wedding, and used it under the serving set for the cake and the toasting glasses. Quite a few things scream my name at flea markets, like salt and pepper shakers and cookie jars, I like to use them as canisters for sugar/flour/tea.
