The Art Of Arranging Everyday Elements

Hello Beautiful! Yes that would be you Dear Friends:) I want to Welcome you to my brand new site and say a huge “Thank You” for coming over for a visit.  Shall we start?

As a little girl growing up on my family’s farm in Arkansas, I learned the beautiful art of arranging every day elements together to enhance my surroundings. Many summer days were spent running barefoot through the garden picking pink Zinnia’s that later would be placed in jelly jars for the kitchen table. A warm breeze gave way to spending time sipping sweet tea on the porch while fashioning clover chain necklaces. Summer was also the perfect time to construct a make shift house using one of my mom’s hand stitched quilts. With the quilt hung over a clothesline, it was then adorned with a collection of found heart shaped rocks.

A love of design assembly and knack for “putting things together” was forged from those early childhood experiences in Arkansas. My career path as a photographer and stylist has been a natural progression that has allowed me to share my inspiration with others.

A little “pop” of purple is the perfect contrast to crisp white sheets. I placed a blooming hyacinth bulb in an old berry basket and used purple tissue paper to hide the dirt. One of my favorite vintage tricks to decorate with is to use a framed print as a tray to hold objects by the bed. In this case, it was the right size for my purple hyacinth. I picked up the framed print (8 x 12) at a flea market for $5.00.

Notice the two pillow cases behind the plant? They are thrift store finds that I dyed to get a couple of shades of purple. In the projects section of my site, I will give you a couple of ideas on how to dye your own linens.

Dried lavender is always wonderful to use as well~ the smell and tiny pellets of color is lovely especially next to your bed.
